Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 44.0-1.2.1 is based on 4MLinux 44.0 BETA and ClamAV 1.2.1.

4MLinux 43.1 STABLE released.

 4MServer 43.1
 
This is a minor (point) release in the 4MLinux STABLE channel, which comes with the Linux kernel 6.1.53. The 4MLinux Server now includes Apache 2.4.57, MariaDB 10.6.15, and PHP 8.1.23 (see this post for more details).
You can update your 4MLinux by executing the "zk update" command in your terminal (fully automatic process).

TheSSS 43.1 released.

Apache in TheSSS 43.1

This is a minor release based on the 4MLinux Server 43.1, meaning that the components of the LAMP server are now: Linux 6.1.53, Apache 2.4.57, MariaDB 10.6.15, and PHP (5.6.40, 7.4.33, and 8.1.23).

You can update your TheSSS by executing the "zk update" command (fully automatic process).

4MLinux 44.0 BETA released.

4MLinux 44.0 BETA

4MLinux 44.0 BETA is ready for testing. Basically, at this stage of development, 4MLinux BETA has the same features as 4MLinux STABLE, but it provides a huge number of updated packages.

Road map: 
August 2023 -> BETA
November 2023 -> STABLE
March 2024 -> OLD STABLE
July 2024 -> EOL

4MLinux 44.0 Core BETA released.

4MLinux 44.0 Core running in QEMU
 
This is a core system (only about 15 MB in size) for the 4MLinux 44 series. The system includes: the Linux kernel 6.1.33, GNU C Library 2.37, and BusyBox 1.36.1. The 4MLinux 44 series uses GNU Compiler Collection 13.1.1 to compile programs designed for the x86_64 architecture.

Despite its extremely small size, 4MLinux Core supports both BIOS and UEFI boot modes

4MLinux 43.0 STABLE released.

 
4MLinux 43.0

The status of the 4MLinux 43.0 series has been changed to STABLE. Edit your documents with LibreOffice 7.5.5 and GNOME Office (AbiWord 3.0.5, GIMP 2.10.34, Gnumeric 1.12.55), surf the Internet with Firefox 115.0.2 and Chrome 115.0.5790.110, send emails via Thunderbird 115.0.1, enjoy your music collection with Audacious 4.3.1, watch your favorite videos with VLC 3.0.18 and SMPlayer 23.6.0, play games powered by Mesa 23.1.1 and Wine 8.12. You can also setup the 4MLinux LAMP Server (Linux 6.1.33, Apache 2.4.57, MariaDB 10.6.14, PHP 5.6.40, PHP 7.4.33, and PHP 8.1.19.). Perl 5.36.0, Python 2.7.18, Python 3.11.3, and Ruby 3.1.4 are also available.

As always, the new major release has some new features. SoundFonts (for FluidSynth) and mtPaint (raster graphics editor) have been added. A few Java-based games (Flappy Bird, Karoshi, Micropolis, and Zuma) as well as a set proprietary web browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera) are now available as downloadable extensions. XMMS in 4MLinux is now able to play a huge number of old sound formats (originating from Amiga, Atari, Commodore, ZX Spectrum and the like). On the other hand, you can use the same XMMS to watch modern AVC/HEVC videos.
