4MLinux 15.0 Core BETA released.

4MLinux 15.0 Core running in VirtualBox

This is a core system (only a few MB in size) for the 4MLinux 15.0 series. The system includes: the Linux kernel 4.1.10, GNU C Library 2.22, and BusyBox 1.24.1. The 4MLinux 15.0 series uses GNU Compiler Collection 5.2.0 to compile programs designed for the i686 architecture.

4MLinux 14.0 STABLE released.

VLC running in 4MLinux 14.0

The status of the 4MLinux 14.0 series has been changed to STABLE. Major change in the core of the system, which now uses GNU Compiler Collection 5.2.0 to compile programs designed for the i686 architecture. Audacious (audio player), Opera (web browser), SMTube (YouTube browser) and VLC (media player) are now available as downloadable extensions. The way in which 4MLinux handles audio and video files has been greatly improved (see: the 4MLinux Blog for details).

TheSSS 14.0 available for download.

A new TheSSS is being setup

TheSSS (The Smallest Server Suite) is a lightweight server suite distributed as a live CD. This release is based on the 4MLinux Server 14.0, meaning that the components of the LAMP server are now: Linux 3.18.21, Apache 2.4.17, MariaDB 10.1.8, and PHP 5.6.14.

4MRescueKit 14.0 BETA released.

Boot Menu in 4MRescueKit 14.0

4MRescueKit provides its users with software for antivirus protection, data backup, disk partitioning, and data recovery. It is distributed in the form of a multiboot CD, which includes four (extremely small) operating systems.

This release has Antivirus Live CD 14.0-0.98.7, BakAndImgCD 14.0, 4MParted 14.0, and 4MRecover 14.0.

4MParted is a very small live CD designed for disk partitioning. It's a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for download.
This version includes GParted 0.23.0 and it uses 4MLinux 14.0 as the base system.

Partclone in action

BakAndImgCD is an official 4MLinux fork, which has been designed to perform the following two tasks: data backup (the supported filesystems are: btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, f2fs, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, nilfs2, ntfs, reiser4, reiserfs, and xfs) and disk imaging (using Partimage, Partclone, and GNU ddrescue). This release is based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 14.0.
